My name is Kianna Koprowski. I was born and raised in Culver City, California. I am a 2020 graduate from San Diego State University with my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Art with an emphasis in Photography, Sociology, and Journalism/Media Studies. I am passionate about art, music, travel, and developing genuine connections with others.
My mom still has the first photo I took of the dining room table legs when I was four years old on her Nikon F50 film camera. Ever since I can remember I have had a passionate calling to bring my POV to life. As I grew up, gathered more experiences, and developed my craft, I have always tried to make an emotional connection through my photographs, for both myself and for the viewer. I want people to feel something when they look at my photos, whether it’s reminding them of a nostalgic memory, inspiring them to see the world differently, or even letting them pause from the distractions of daily life and connect to art.
I have always had a deep love and conscious awareness for the environment, and that love inspires the nature themed photographs I take. I believe the ground we walk on is precious, and one of the most beautiful things the human eye can see. I strive to capture that beauty through my photos, to remind the world of what is important. Before I started college, I decided to travel to India, to live in an orphanage for two weeks, and be of service to the destitute women and children. It was an absolute life changing experience and something I will be forever grateful for. My hope is to continue to nurture acts of service for humanity, travel and capture all of these experiences from my heart directly through the lens of my camera.
